TeXercise
http://www.dads.state.tx.us/services/agingtexaswell/texercise/ Exercise is one of the best ways to develop and enhance your physical and mental health. When you do that, you can help to assure that you age well throughout your lifetime. To help you do this, the Texas Department on Aging and Disability Accomodation (TDADS)encourages Texans of all ages to get behind its Aging Texas Well campaign by participating in Texercise. Texercise will help you get moving, start a program of regular exercise, or support you as you continue the physical activities you're already doing. Group Participation - If you are part of a group, you can encourage others to join you in participating in Texercise. Maybe your group would like to challenge another group to a friendly competition. At the end of the three month period, send a brief summary of your group's activities. Intergenerational Participation - Special recognition will be given on the Capitol display to those participating in Texercise on an intergenerational team. Intergenerational relationships are vitally important in our individual lives and in society as a whole. Take your grandchild with you when you walk, ask your mom to go with you to aerobics, or go for a family bike ride. |
