Welcome to the Educational Consortium for Volunteerism

The mission of the Educational Consortium for Volunteerism is to foster enhanced professionalism and increased standards in the leadership of volunteers and community service effort in Texas by providing:

Education, Training, and Professional Development:

*  Online Certificate in Volunteer and Community Resource Management

*  AH Certificate in Nonprofit Management

*  Online college courses

*  Online self-paced continued education

       Training Assistance:

Student Volunteers, Service Learning students, interns, and Federal Work Study students provide services such as computer skills, office help, direct service to clients, fundraising, marketing, public relations, and volunteer coordination to area nonprofit organizations.

        Service:

American Humanics Student Association conducts one service project each month with local agencies.  AHSA also plans unique special events that benefit organizations and the community as a whole.  As an example, September 07's Hunger Banquet brought together the university community, area nonprofits, and community members at large to address hunger issues with proceeds going to AH for future programming and Our Daily Bread, the local food assistance program.

Success for Life Through Reading utilizes volunteers to read and conduct activities with low-income pre-school children to promote literacy.
