Certificates are designed for professionals, graduate and undergraduate students who want to add a competitive edge to their careers through specialized training in volunteer management, leadership, community asset mapping, program planning and evaluation from an accredited university.

Certificate Requirements

Each certificate requires the successful completion of 12 semester hours of volunteer and community resource management.

Determination as to which certificate a student may pursue is guided by student status (undergraduate or graduate) in consultation with program and/or student advisors. 

Successful completion means students must maintain a "B" average in the four certificate courses.  No grade below "C" in any of the courses can be accepted for certificate purposes, and No more than three semester hours with a grade of "C".

Graduate Academic Certificates

This certificate is for professionals and students who already have a Bachelor's degree and want the certificate in volunteer and community resource management.  It requires successful completion* of 12 hours in graduate volunteer management course.  The Graduate Academic Certificate is conferred by the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies.  Students pursuing this certificate must apply to the Graduate School for the certificate program in Volunteer and Community Resource Management.

Undergraduate Certificates

These certificates are designed for professionals and students who have not yet completed an undergraduate degree and want to gain a professional level of competencies in volunteer and community resource management.  They require the successful completion* of 12 hours in undergraduate volunteer and community resource management  courses. 

Students must contact their academic advisors to declare their intention to pursue the certificate.  Otherwise, it will not be noted on official UNT transcripts.  The Undergraduate Certificate is awarded by the College of Public Affairs and Community Service.
