COMS3300 - This course is designed to introduce
students to an overview of philanthropy and the financial planning
and fundraising practices in non-profit organizations. Students
will learn to assess the financial health of organizations,
understand the duty of fiscal responsibility, and develop and
implement fundraising strategies.
This course is
taught totally online through WebCT. All materials, lectures,
quizzes, projects, programs and discussions are conducted online
over the course of the semester. In addition to the course work,
you are required to complete 20 hours of volunteer work in a
fundraising department at a not-for-profit agency.
After you have successfully registered for
the course, you will need to access the WebCT course on the first
day of the semester. It is very important that you complete the
first lesson's activities within the first week of the semester,
so don't wait! To access WebCT, go to
